What the numbers mean in practice
Identical pieces remove the search. A large part of the time spent with a mixed construction set goes on hunting for a specific piece. Every disc here is the disc, so the whole session is building.
Curvature is the capability. Discs joined edge to edge naturally curl, which means spheres, domes, shells and creatures. That is genuinely hard to do with bricks or tiles, and it is why this belongs alongside them rather than instead of them.

Who should skip it
A child who wants to build houses. Discs do not make flat walls or square rooms. That expectation mismatch is the main way this set disappoints.
