Who we are

Block & Beaker is an independent publisher at blockandbeaker.com, reachable at info@blockandbeaker.com. Using this site means accepting the terms below. If you do not accept them, the remedy is not to use the site.

What this site is

Editorial content about children’s STEM toys, compiled from manufacturers’ published information. It is intended to help you choose a purchase, and it is opinion informed by published facts rather than professional advice.

What this site is not

• A shop. We sell nothing and hold no stock. Every purchase you make is with a third-party retailer under their terms.
• A testing organization. We have not tested the products described here. This is stated throughout and set out in full on how we pick.
• A source of safety, medical or developmental advice. Age ratings and safety standards quoted here come from manufacturers and published standards. They are reported, not endorsed, and they do not replace your own judgment about your own child.

Accuracy

We take reasonable care that specifications match what manufacturers publish, and every figure links to its source so you can check it. But manufacturers revise products, change contents and update ratings without notice, and pages here can be out of date between our review cycles.

Before buying, check the current listing and the manufacturer’s own page. Where safety matters — age suitability, chemical contents, small parts — the manufacturer’s current information is authoritative and ours is a report of it.

If you find something wrong, tell us. We correct within 48 hours of confirming, visibly, per our editorial policy.

Prices

Prices shown are pulled from a live data layer, date-stamped, and stop rendering when the data is older than 48 hours. They are indicative: the price you pay is the price shown by the retailer at checkout, and we have no control over it.

We earn commission on qualifying purchases made through links on this site. This is disclosed above the first affiliate link on every page and in full on the disclosure page, and every commercial link is marked rel="sponsored".

The commercial relationship does not change our recommendations. Our commitments on that are on the editorial policy page.

Third-party sites

This site links to manufacturers and retailers. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content, their prices, their privacy practices or their fulfillment, and a link is not an endorsement of anything beyond the specific point it was cited for.

Any transaction you enter into with a retailer is between you and them. Questions about orders, delivery, returns or faults go to the retailer, not to us.

Content and copyright

The writing, analysis and arithmetic on this site are ours. You are welcome to quote a reasonable extract with a link back. Wholesale reproduction of pages is not permitted.

Product names, brands and trademarks belong to their owners and are used here to identify products. Product photographs, where they appear, are served from the retailer. Editorial photography is licensed stock, and we credit the photographer in the repository that builds this site.

Limits of liability

This site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of errors.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from use of this site or from a purchase made after reading it. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

In particular: decisions about what is safe or suitable for a specific child are yours. We report what manufacturers publish, and we say so plainly when a rating is about contents rather than difficulty, but the judgment is not ours to make.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the last-updated date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use the site after that means accepting the revised terms.
